Pam Stowe Charlotte

Dress + Cape of Dreams

I recently had the, shall I say, EXPERIENCE, of wearing one too fabulous for words dress and cape by Chicago-born designer Peter Soronen. The dress, on loan to me, was purchased from Charlotte’s own, Capitol, at least 10 years ago. I really think I have never seen anything like it. Certainly I have never worn anything like it.

Charlotte Observer Coverage: Day Of Style And Fun!

Last week we hosted our Day of Style and Fun, and oh what fun we had!  We sold some of the most gorgeous one of a count vintage gowns and jewels to some lucky ladies. It was fantastic to see several of those ladies wearing their new gems at yesterday's Mint Museum Auxiliary Room To Bloom Spring Symposium with guest speaker Frances Schultz at Charlotte Country Club.  This is the only picture I took, but was the fashion on fire!  Charlotte ladies all dressed to play and WIN.

More to come on that amazing event, but in the meantime I was thrilled to read a lovely article about our event in this past Sunday's Style section of The Charlotte Observer. See the entire article HERE.  Below are some shots from our Day of Style and Fun.  Our amazing partners surprised me with the most delicious WRENNHOUSE birthday cake and song!

OH WHAT A DAY!

House of Landor + March 30th Trunk Show

Happy Thursday(/Friday, depending when you read this) Y'all!  I just had to share this little video my friend Mary Beth sent over to me.

You know how much I love good vintage, and as a result you likely know my equal fondness for my vintage dress dealer, House of Landor, Mary Beth's business.  I had some updated photos taken yesterday by Richard Israel, with Cali Stott on Hair and Makeup, and of course there was plenty of House of Landor in the fashion mix.

Lots of you came to the trunk show/all day long party my great friend Pam and I hosted back around Christmas. Laryn Adams brought her amaze-balls jewelry stash, and Hallie Eban sold out all of her designs with her new line, Piet Jac Designs.  For me, this entire day was a way to share my passion for great friendship and style with others.  Back by popular demand, we'll be hosting a spring show (On my 40th Gasp! Bring It!), and we'll also be adding gorgeous Arzberger Stationers to the mix.  I just picked up my new note cards for letter writing, and I couldn't be happier.  So class.

So, go ahead and put it on your calendars!  Bring a girlfriend or several!  Get ready to drink champagne and fall in love with the day.  It will be one filled with friendship and amazing style from each and every corner.

Gucci Inspired!

How great is this Gucci inspired vintage velvet bag?  My uber fashionable friend Pam snagged it for me at Seeline Vintage in Charleston, SC, owned and operated by M.K. Quinlan.  From her writing in various interiors and style publications, as well as her previous post as Senior Style Editor at Garden & Gun, I have known of M.K.'s work, but it wasn't until this bag that I learned she also has a vintage boutique I must visit STAT!  I think the bag was the perfect top off for my Christmas Day outfit.  What do you think?

Of course, I was eager to learn more about the origination of this bag, so I did a quick Google search and found this one.  If you are a vintage junkie like me, you might enjoy learning a little more about the bag here.  It's the only one I could find.  Have you ever seen a bag similar to this?

Fun, right?  And with that, here are a few of my favorite Gucci originals red, green and black.  Can't see them in your reader? Click HERE.

Style Setter Feature: Pam Stowe

My friend Pam Stowe was recently featured in the Charlotte Observer Sunday Styles section, and I have to share it with you.  To me, Pam is one of the most stylish ladies I know, certainly in the Queen City.  Pam's dress is eclectic and fearless.  She is true to herself and never dresses to fit into a crowd.  Her southern gentility and elegant manners are what allows her personal style to shine even brighter.  She is sort of our own younger, softer, southern version of Iris Apfel.  I love seeing ladies express their personality through their dress.  Kindness and joy are the cherry on top!  Please read the Charlotte Observer article here, and watch the short videos of her talking about her personal style.  She mentions my vintage dress dealer, Mary Beth Paulson and House of Landor, as well as my first favorite designer, Cynthia Rowley.  You will see the decor in her home is also an extension of Pam's fabulous personal style. Enjoy!
