Gift Guide: For The Kids + Come See Me This Week At The Mint Museum + The Snow Ladies THIS Week!

Today's Gift Guide is For The Kids!  My two Precious Peanuts, especially #1, have been making it clear what it is they would like for christmas.  This old school gamer I could not get enough of as a kid is back, and it is at the top of the list for Precious Peanut #1.

Precious Peanut #2 wants one of these and this I did get him this which I guess we can all have fun with for parties...

This is another childhood favorite and classic. So many memories now for the Peanuts on Snow Sled Hill!

And, THIS, the ultimate boy gift.

Want your kids to learn How To Behave And Why?  I suggest these as easy gifts for any and all children in your immediate or extended family!  Or How To Speak Politely and Why.

One more thing... My great friends Lydia Lundgren and Pam Stowe are going to be out spreading some JOY this week.  They will be visiting three locations across the city at different times.  Lydia's vision is absolutely miraculous and wonderful.  You can read more about it on her Instagram page HERE.  Try to go see them if you have the time or if you are simply looking for a smile.  You will NOT regret.  I am so proud of them both!

My Finds At The Southern Spring Home & Garden Show + Ticket Giveaway

Last weekend I attended the Southern Spring Home & Garden Show with my parents and Precious Peanut #2.  My parents have the most beautiful little Charleston like backyard, complete with an ivy lathered brick wall, sweet little statuettes and the most amazing shrubs, perennials and grown cover imaginable.  It really is a dream of a space, and though not now, it is something I will aspire to attain one day.  Just like with home design projects, I sometimes find myself easily over excited and mentally transported into a magical dream with the infinite opportunities to create.  I want to do it all!  But let's be real.. not an easy thing to do when you are ignited by creativity.  Alas, we had a wonderful afternoon taking in all the Home & Garden inspiration imaginable in one space.  The show is laid out into three large spaces.  The first room, Liberty Hall, is dedicated to commercial home supply.  Think garage doors, roofing, appliances, hot tubs, outdoor play spaces, fireplace mantles, outdoor barns, etc.  Precious Peanut #2 got a taste for some awesome outdoor play sets as well as the "World's Safest and Smartest Trampoline"... And as you see, so did I.  Serious ups!

Leaving Liberty Hall, you walk down the ramp through the cafeteria with food... hot dogs, pizza, popcorn, homemade donuts, a root beer stand (and more!)... into Freedom Hall.  This space is dedicated to landscaping and outdoor spaces.  For those of you with a green thumb, there is so much inspiration to be had!  Wouldn't it be a convenient luxury to have a hot room to store all your potted flowers, plants and produce during the winter?  I also had to snap a pic of Peanut next to the VW Bug Convertible since that is the car my Dad drove for my entire childhood.  Sure do miss the "Volks."

Independence Hall is the third and final space, dedicated to all kinds of fun finds you can take home with you.  I nabbed some delicious Bloody Mary Mix to give to my neighbor that night as a hostess gift. Bruce Julian's (Milton's), now located on Selwyn Ave in Myers Park, is one of North Carolina's oldest family owned men's clothiers.  Turns out clothes aren't the only good thing they do.

How much fun are these inflatable sofas/beds?  They sell factory direct for $100 each, but at the show they are $60 each or two for $100.

Capel Rugs is on site with lots of great home furnishings, accessories and, of course, rugs.  I love these brass and moss green velvet stools, and the quartz style glass trinket box would make a stylish hostess gift (under $20!).

Mom snagged a little potted plant (herb?) and I am attempting to lovingly keep alive my favorite house plant, my third and final fiddle leaf fig!

Loved meeting JD of Charlotte's own Glory Days Apparel!  He's got lots of great Charlotte and North Carolina nostalgia tees, including the very clever and funny Selwyn Pub/Quail Hollow/Golf Cart commemorative tee. I snagged a Tar Heel tee!

Precious Peanut had fun playing coinhole!  Super fun table top game for $10.  Another great hostess gift idea personalized with your friend's alma mater.

I'd like to have a few of these relaxing swinging chairs on my patio...

I've got a pair of tickets to GIVE AWAY for next weekend's show.  Simply comment here if you are interested in going!
