Fall Trends

Fall '17 Trend: Americana

Denim, small scale floral prints, quilted fabric, checks, suede, prairie dresses and Western motifs galore.  These are a few examples in design indicative of the Americana Trend for fall.  Laura Ingalls Wilder would go bananas.  I certainly do.  A long time fan of Coach, this brand gets my vote for doing the Americana trend better than all the rest.  But then again, would you consider it a trend if they're simply doing what they've always done?  Ulla Johnson nails it too. Shop my top Americana styles below or click HERE if you are unable to see the below images.

The print on this vintage maxi dress PLUS a bow around the neck?  Ahh.  TDF.

This Coach patchwork maxi skirt looks like House of Landor vintage dreams in color.

How about the Coach Rogue 25 bag with embellished leather blooms?

What is Americana without the perfect pair of clogs?

I'd like to have this Free People maxi

My Carolina blue and white ruffle plaid shirt has been getting lots of hits.  I think this version is a great take on Americana.  Also this one my friend Emily snagged.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: Bags + The Veronica Beard Jacket + Coach

Check out my picks for the best bags included in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.  But you gotta hurry!  I can't believe how fast things are selling with some items only available in certain sizes, and I have already seen some items sold out!  A client message me last night to say how bummed she was to have missed the boat on the awesome new Veronica Beard jacket with detachable hoodie!  If you loved it just as much, though not included in the sale, HERE is a full run of these new jackets that are all the rage for Fall.

This one with the detachable camo hoodie dickie is pretty clever.

But I gotta say this black blazer on sale for $209 down from $695 makes a case to be in classic girl's wardrobe.

This trench vest is fiercely chic.

Back to the bags now!  If you follow me on Instagram you know I am very excited about the Coach brands return to a narrower focus on perfecting their product.  With a new designer at the helm, Stuart Vevers is giving Coach a more than cool new spin.  The quality and the details are on point.  They are putting out some pretty fashion forward ready to wear pieces for women and now men, which you can check out HERE.

There is ONE Coach bag included in the Nordstrom sale.  It is small, but if small is what you need, I LOVE it. If you can't see all of the bags below, click HERE.  I also really like the All Saints Tote included in the sale.  Vanessa Hudgens is a fan too.

I love the Ted Baker Union Jack clutch.  What a fun way to inject some color and Brit love into your wardrobe. Queen E did just turn 90 after all!

Back To School With Goodwill Industries

Today I was joined by three beautiful young students (can you guess who that handsome blonde boy is?) for a look at back to school fashion presented by Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont.  Goodwill has got it all!  Discounted clothes for children of all ages, name brand fashions your teen or tween will love and even furniture and electronics for the back to college student!  I had a great time, as ever with the fine folks of Goodwill and Charlotte Today.  It is such a privileged to be able to use my work as a platform for spreading the good word and mission of this organization.  Check out our presentation below by clicking here or  the image.

Ahead From The North

As you know, it's been a long, long time since I've hit the streets of Charlotte in search of the next coolest place for pictures here on the blog.  I ran into my precious cousin Ellie a couple of weeks ago while having coffee at 7th Street Public Market.  Can I just say I love family?  On my father's side my Grandmother was the youngest of 11, so as I'm sure you can image, there are a whole ton of them.  I was so excited when Ellie asked if we could take some photos.  I'm always up for an adventure, so when she suggested a spot North of the city that boasted amazing views of the skyline, I said let's do it! This expansive piece of pavement soon to be light rail served as a fun location for several photos to come.  It's a good thing we captured it when we did, because like most every other remaining piece of undeveloped land in the QC, as we look ahead, it is only a matter of time before it will be no more.

Outfit Details: Mom On The Go

Here's my Mom On The Go outfit from yesterday's segment on Charlotte Today.  In case you missed it, you can watch it hereI combined items from J.Crew Factory and Banana Republic Factory for my exciting collaboration with Concord Mills.  I already own the blazer and pumps from J. Crew. The buttons on the blazer are the EXACT same, and the pumps feel just the same on my feet as those from J.Crew.  I seriously cannot tell a difference in quality, yet the price is so much lower at J.Crew Factory. Same goes with the Banana Republic items.  Head on over to Concord Mills, or shop any of the items straight from this page!

How To Be Chic At Any Price This Fall

Am very excited to be talking shop with Belk VP of Trend Merchandising, Arlene Goldstein, in today's Charlotte Observer.  With a bevvy of trends from which to engage your wardrobe this fall, Arlene and I weigh in on those we love and how to wear them.  As the below image states, grey is the IT color for fall.  I dig it.  You may read the entire article here. Thank you to the folks over at the Charlotte Observer for including me!
