Fall 2017 Trends

Fall '17 Trend: Maximalist Dressing

When it comes to dressing, Maximalism is my go to approach 110%.  This season designers all seem to agree.  Of course, it's fashion.. it repeats itself pretty commonly and regularly.  But that all out, give it all you got, layer it up, mix and match way of dressing, I can't ever seem to get enough of this good stuff!

With an all star cast and team and an unmatched back drop, I got to style it up just so for the current issue of SouthPark Magazine at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden during the Chinese Lantern Festival.  If you missed it, well, boy did you miss it.  Ten rounds of Bravo to the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens.

In the meantime you can shop a few lust-worthy top picks HERE.

Missoni is doing a special collection for Intermix.  Of course I love it all!  This scarf makes a strong statement in one punch.

I can't believe these earrings are Ann Taylor.  So intricate and high end looking at a mili-fraction of the cost!

Mix Yorkshire tartan with your coordinating large scale floral silk pussybow blouse. All. Day. Long. I mean I certainly would.

Make a bold but not wild statement with this uber stylist military inspired full length coat in the Banana Republic x Olivia Palermo collection (Translate: Commoners can afford!)

An adorable super stylish client of mine tried this fab floral and black bow accent dress for a recent party.  It is AMAZING but since she is itty petite, the fit was a little big.  I want!

Fall '17 Trend: Leather + Leather + Leather

Leather on leather on leather on leather.  Designers left and right sent their best head to toe leather ensembles down the runway for fall, showing us this luxe fabric isn't just for biker jackets, booties and driving gloves.   Think you want to try your hand at this trend this fall season?  Reach for an a-line skirt that will pair with everything all season long, or try this faux leather version if more your speed.

This leather and floral belt is the perfect accouterments for any mid section.

I styled this leather ruffle crop top over a butterfly blouse in the upcoming November issue of SouthPark Magazine.  It would be hard for most to pull this off on its own, but layered, it is a home run for all!

These olive colored cropped pants from the Banana Republic x Olivia Palermo collection are a great accessibly priced way to add a touch of leather to your wardrobe for fall.

This big shoulder leather dress reads hot and bothered meets 80's glam at its best!

Fall '17 Trend: Americana

Denim, small scale floral prints, quilted fabric, checks, suede, prairie dresses and Western motifs galore.  These are a few examples in design indicative of the Americana Trend for fall.  Laura Ingalls Wilder would go bananas.  I certainly do.  A long time fan of Coach, this brand gets my vote for doing the Americana trend better than all the rest.  But then again, would you consider it a trend if they're simply doing what they've always done?  Ulla Johnson nails it too. Shop my top Americana styles below or click HERE if you are unable to see the below images.

The print on this vintage maxi dress PLUS a bow around the neck?  Ahh.  TDF.

This Coach patchwork maxi skirt looks like House of Landor vintage dreams in color.

How about the Coach Rogue 25 bag with embellished leather blooms?

What is Americana without the perfect pair of clogs?

I'd like to have this Free People maxi

My Carolina blue and white ruffle plaid shirt has been getting lots of hits.  I think this version is a great take on Americana.  Also this one my friend Emily snagged.

Fall '17 Trend: The Power Suit

Corporate men beware.  It's the return of the women's power suit!  Tweed waistcoats, pantsuits, menswear, all over floral, large scale checks and more, be prepared to see it all. Wear your suit all at once or mix and match your outfit pairing the blazer with another pair of trousers or skirt and, likewise, style your pants with a different top.  That's what you call a fashion three-fer.  Shop my suiting top picks below or click HERE if you are unable to see the images.

Wear this all over floral jacket and pants combo to work or, paired with black satin pumps, to your next cocktail party.

Get lucky with this super cute and affordable green pantsuit, also in pink, or this glittery version.

This Derek Lam red floral jaquard number is red hot spot on.

Wear this forest green tuxedo pant suit to work or as formal wear.

Fall '17 Trend: Velvet

What's the saying?  Go all out or go home?  If that's the case, I am definitely gonna go for it starting out my Fall 2017 Trend roundup with Velvet.  For the last few seasons velvet has made it's mark on the runways, each year with a slightly different tone from the last, all the while getting richer and more refined with each season.  This year velvet makes it's most relevant mark for the formal occasion.  Shop my favorite velvet for Fall, or click HERE if you are unable to see the below images.

Head STRAIGHT for the disco in this velvet and gold mirrored platform heel.

Could velvet be more stylish and regal than this beaded velvet midi dress with pouf sleeves?

Want just a touch of velvet but all the fun?  Try this eyelet wrap mini dress.

Red velvet tuxedo jacket anyone?  Yes, PLEASE.

Okay, okay.  But THIS big dot, 80's looking one shoulder frock with assymetrical everything is the one I want.
