Clever Collar

I've enjoyed the whimsical and demure yet respectful and fun flirtatious designs of Vivetta ever since I first learned of the brand a couple of years ago over at Capitol when I pulled this botanical print dress for an Our State Magazine cover shoot featuring North Carolina vocal and instrumental sensation, Rhiannon Giddens.  

I later lucked up in nabbing some Vivetta of my own when I hit up the end of season sale a few months later.  I loved it so much Chelsea Lewis had to wear it in SouthPark Magazine.

I believe it was the next season these clever cute Vivetta hands collar designs caught my eye.

Fast forward to this week, I couldn't help but think of those clever hands as I was flipping through the J.Crew catalog and noticed my favorite striped shirt had been stylishly updated with its own eyelet trimmed collar and scalloped edge sleeves.

The Making Of A Photo Shoot About Trains

A little diversion from the SouthPark Magazine Fall Fashion pictures to share with you a few photos from the making of the Our State Magazine story about The Allure of Trains.  If you love romance, travel and nostalgia as much as I do, you will love this story.  This was my first time working with Our State Magazine, and I was absolutely taken by the beauty of these machines located at the North Carolina Transportation Museum.  I wanted to share a few images taken by husband and wife photography duo, Brett & Jessica, out of Raleigh. As you can see it was a grey day, but you never would have known it looking at the cover of the magazine...

My Biggest Yet

I am still so excited.  This is my biggest cover to date.  Do you read Our State Magazine?  This is such a great publication... outstanding journalism, excellent photography, all things wonderful about the great Tar Heel State.  I always have a great time working on set.  I love the interest that comes with it, making new friends, hearing their stories, reconnecting with those you've worked with once before and reminiscing.  The story for this shoot was about the allure of travel by train.  There is so much nostalgia in travel by train.  I turn to pictures and listen to stories for much of my experience about travel by train.  For this photo shoot, however, I toured some amazing jewels at the North Carolina Transportation Museum in Spencer, NC.
