Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Dresses

Two Days To Go + Plus Size Perfection

I everyone!  I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.  There are just TWO days remaining in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.  Shop now through August 6 to take advantage of the amazing savings.  While we're on that note, I wanted to about a recent client experience.  I recently met with the most lovely, beautiful and smart young new client.  She has a masters in counseling but currently works in real estate.  Can you say Got It Going On?  For as long as I've been writing this blog, I've had readers and friends ask if I could share some non size 0,2,4 fashions.  When I was doing my research and shopping for wardrobe pieces for my client's eclectic boho style, I stumbled upon the most beautiful and stylish plus size fashion blogger, Sarah Tripp at Sassy Red Lips. On her blog, Sarah shares about the topics she's "most passionate about... all about loving yourself, body positivity, and honoring your curves.  I LOVE Sarah's below outfit.  I've been on the look out for kimonos, perfect for my client's cool bohemian style, and this outfit stopped me in my tracks. She is boho + cool rocker girl + glam all in one.

She's shopped the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale for some great discount finds and paired them with some splurge worthy staples, the Chloe studded booties and Chanel bag, for an absolutely masterful hi + lo mix!

I adore her Kimono!

The high waist denim skirt + flattering white V neck tee will work year round with anything!

Here's a more accessibly priced black bootie and sunnies to top off the look.

What do you think?  Don't you agree Sarah is personified chic?!  Below are some of the things I found for my client that excite me most!  Click HERE if you are unable to see the below images.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: Laid Back Saturday Cool

I've been working on an editorial project that had me scrolling the Instagram handles of some of the Queen City's youngest, hottest and chicest.  The twenty year olds seem to all have this dressed down ripped jean shorts, simple tee, gladiator sandals, top knot topped off with sunglasses three sizes too big thing going on.  Don't get me wrong, when styled appropriately (ie. not too short, too tight dare I say trashy looking), they look pretty sexy and cute.  That said, I am really thrilled not to be in my late twenties anymore.  I feel like the older you get the more fun you can have with fashion.  I think there is a stronger element of individuality with age.  That said, I do like the idea of an under styled laid back Madewell look for those days you just don't have more in you.  What do you think? Shop below for a few of the more simple items I like to keep in my closet. Click HERE if you are not able to see the below images.

Always, always need a good utility pant and jacket in the wardrobe.  They are both great neutral, alternatives to denim that go with everything.

I LOVE this military style peplum jacket and here it is in plus size

I am digging the looks of this zip hem crop boyfriend jean.

This is a GREAT basic tee.  The flattering V-neck is particularly nice for women with a larger bust.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: Home + 48 Hours in Raleigh

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!  I took a last minute trip to our state's capital to visit some friends.  My gal pal Mary Beth showed us all a good time with stops at some of Raleigh's hippest eats.  Friday night we sat at the bar for a light dinner at Crawford and Son then hit up Person Street Bar for after dinner drinks and a round of pool.  Late, late night looked sexy and cool at Fox Liquor Bar.  I ditched my Saturday morning 16 mile training run for three days of food and beverage gorging and of course no trip to see Mary Beth would be complete without a minimum of three hours playing dress up in fabulous vintage and drooling over chic vintage finds for the home.  Catch a taste below and see House of Landor Instagram + Finds, or call House of Landor if you see something here you might like for yourself!

Followed by another walk down memory lane at my Alma Mater, Saint Mary's, the most delicious house made Bloody Mary and veggie hot dog at The Cardinal helped soak up everything from the night before. Saturday night started out with drinks atop the iconic Holiday Inn downtown. The last time I was there I was 19 years old in my enormous white Deb dress sitting in the hallway an underage drunken mess crying my eyes out to my date about who knows what.  A most ridiculous but equally fond memory that was!  But seriously, the rooftop bar boasts magnificent views of downtown. Dinner Saturday night was delicious Italian at Gravy. Last but certainly not least, we hit up and Standard Foods for Sunday Brunch.

We now return to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale with some great finds for the home!  Can't see the below images?  Click HERE

This Moroccan rug is a great neutral rug that will look great in every room and literally goes with everything.

The perfect drink holder for the dog days of summer spent splashing in the pool!

The banana leaf print has continued to be a huge hit in design.  Add a playful touch to your bedroom with this duvet or pillow.  And who doesn't need a pink flamingo shower curtain?

If I were back in my college apartment, this might be the modern day tapestry hanging above the couch!

Every home needs a shot of shine gold starburst mirror!  The price on this one is hard to beat.

Nordstrom Anniverary Sale: Dresses

Today's helping of Nordstrom Anniversary Sale favorites serves up dresses!  Shop all of my favorites below and HERE if you are not able to see the images.

I mentioned in yesterday's post on tops that embroidery is going to be a BIG trend for Fall.  I love the relaxed Boho feel of this Free People frock... takes me back to my days of childhood in idyllic Asheville.

Absolutely ADORE the sleeves on this LBD that would be perfect for work, church, cocktail party... any occasion.

Another hot trend for Fall?  Formal velvet.  I think this mustard dress would work wonders dressed up OR down.

This is the perfect dress for Mom on the go. I would wear this to the ball field with a cute pair of tennies.
