Father's Day Gift Ideas

Father's Day will be here before you know it, so I've put together a collage of things, simply, I think are cool.  I think this day of recognition for Dads is a great time to give something that he wouldn't buy for himself.  Most men I know only buy for themselves the things that are practical, so I think Father's Day is the best opportunity to spoil the Dad in your life with something he would love but wouldn't buy for himself.

If you simply must be practical, what man wouldn't love this American Flag cross-stitched belt?  Sporting the home team is always in style. My favorite gift to give my baby Daddy is matching shirts from J.Crew for both the boys and him.  If you get cool shirts, the matching look isn't dorky.  It's cool.

This shoe shine kit is both practical and luxurious, and the watch is practical but rugged cool.

These sunglasses never ever ever go out of style.  At 78, my Dad still has the pair from his college days.  Told ya.

And there's this sleek speaker tower and earphones for the travelling Dad who does really get into the finer things.

Happy Father's Day to all the Dads!

Dirty Rotten

In December's issue of Sasee Magazine, I share my tips for putting on the dog and pampering yourself rotten this holiday season.  If you're ever in the Grand Strand of South Carolina (Charleston to Myrtle Beach), be sure to pick up a copy of Sasee on news stands everywhere. For the outfit above, I mixed a casual plaid shirt from J.Crew Factory with a vintage satin ball skirt and threw in some colorful accessories with a vintage gold clutch, Cole Haan pattered pumps, my favorite Melinda Maria ring, gold cuff from Chloe + Isabel and a showpiece necklace from Charles Emerson Designs. It is unexpected and interesting, and easy peasy to create on your own.
