GW A retail concept Store

Goodwill Style Stories with Stacee Michelle

Lots of you here know my appreciation for great one of a kind threads at ANY price.  Because of my early exposure to great fashion by way of my Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, I have a strong affinity for high end vintage clothing and accessories.  I am naturally drawn to anything that will yield a one of a kind look.  This usually leaves me not purchasing off the rack but insteaded shopping vintage or creating curated looks made up of pieces from here, there and, well, everywhere!  Remember this dress?

It's a great Malia of Honolulu vintage frock; one of my favorite little summer dresses.. and guess where I found it?  You got it.  GW Goodwill!  A little treasure hunting, and you never know what you will find at Goodwill.  You might remember my GW segment with Jon Wilson talking all about it while wearing a fab DVF dress I found there.  With my personal styling work for private clients comes lots of closet editing.  I encourage clients whose taste changes over time to lovingly pass on some of their things that were once favorites but are no longer getting their fair wear.  From J.Crew to Givenchy, and for a fraction of the price, you can find it at Goodwill.

And NOW... Teaming up with Goodwill to help spread the word about GW boutique and The Goodwill Opportunity Campus is my friend, fellow stylist and fashion insider, Stacee Michelle!  With her bubbly personality and always camera ready smile, Stacee shares some of her favorite GW finds!  The Goodwill Opportunity Campus on Wilkinson Blvd is a state-of-the-art facility providing the most comprehensive collection of resources and opportunities for individuals facing multiple barriers to employment.  It's a campus like you've never seen.  You gotta check it out... AND Stacee's fab Goodwill finds

Goodwill GW Opening

I am super excited to share with you some fashionable fun news about my partners over at Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont. Do you remember that awesome pop-up store that Goodwill opened for a week last December?  Name brand clothing, shoes, handbags, jewelry and oh so much more at Goodwill prices...

Well.... Goodwill is opening a permanent GW specialty store! Following the success of the one-week-only pop-up concept store at the EpiCentre last year, GW will have a new home in the Leon Levine Opportunity Center at the Goodwill Opportunity Campus, located at 5301 Wilkinson Boulevard in west Charlotte.

Goodwill will also be celebrating the re-branding and re-location of their outlet store (formerly known as the Goodwill Outlet or Freedom Drive Outlet) now re-named “Second Editions: A Goodwill Outlet Store.” Both stores will open to the public with a grand opening celebration the following day – Wednesday, June 8th from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. – and the Goodwill Opportunity Campus will fully open for services to the public on Thursday, June 30th.

It is my hope that ALL of you will take a moment to enjoy this new, convenient destination for shopping trendy, chic looks in designer and brand names at Goodwill prices, all while helping job seekers in our community achieve family sustaining employment.  AND... if you're an early riser, be sure to tune in to Wilson's World on Tuesday morning, June 7th, starting at 6:45am, where I'll be joining the King of Morning Fun himself to talk more about this very exciting community opportunity!

Goodwill GW Pop Up Store

I am so proud of my philanthropic partners over at Goodwill of the Southern Piedmont. Goodwill is opening a concept store called "GW" at the Epicentre for one week only, Monday, November 30th – Sunday, December 6th. Taking place in the space where Revolution used to be location, GW is a boutique that will feature many of their high-end items from the store.   GW is being modeled similarly to that of other trendy boutiques with color blocking, selling women’s clothing, accessories, jewelry and shoes, as well as a small area for men in the back.

To give you a pictorial idea of what to expect at GW, I've including some images of the shop that Goodwill has passed along to me.  Partnering with this fantastic organization over the last few years, I've obviously spent some time at the stores.  But let me tell you, what you will see at GW isn't what you would expect to see at the regular Goodwill stores.  I mean, certainly bits and pieces, but GW is going to be the New York City Upper East Side Carrie Bradshaw version of Goodwill. Take a look here...

Yep! Just in time for the Christmas holidays and your favorite tacky sweater parties, GW even has an entire section dedicated to tacky Christmas sweaters!

Also, I had to share some of these outfits put together by some local fashion bloggers for my friends over at Scoop Charlotte.  Nice work ladies!

Store hours for the week are as follows:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.

  • Thursday, Friday, Saturday: 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.

  • Sunday: 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Don't miss it!
