Shop The Edit: Polished Professional + High Fashion Gent

Sourcing some of the best retailers in the QC, we included some hot looks for the Polished Professional and High Fashion Gent also in this month's issue of Ballantyne Magazine. One of my favorite hidden gems in the city is Nouveaux Consignment, located in the heart of Ballantyne.  If there is one thing I love it is high fashion and a not high price.  Nouveaux Consignment has a great collection of designer threads gently used and ready to be passed on to the next lucky owner.

Polished Professional

  1. The black and white leather Tory Burch bag with resin chain sold the day I returned it from being photographed.  Do not dismay, there are plenty other amazing finds!
  2. The teal shade of blue on these Celine sunglasses from Nordstrom is fiercely cool.
  3. The Epice denim cherry pop scarf from TRC W would be so chic styled under the Eleventy red fedora and paired with the Celine sunnies.
  4. Who wouldn't want a custom made 2.13 carat band like the one we styled from Ballantyne Jewelers?
  5. I love a red fedora.  SO strong and chic.
  6. Michele seems to be the popular brand theses days for women's watches.  How about this two-toned diamond watch from Ballantyne Jewelers?

High Fashion Gent

  1. This Fendi Monster Neoprene and Leather Tote is totally fun.  The entire collection is pretty neat I have to say.
  2. My girl Kristin Hayes is making great pieces for men too.  If your guy is a cool guy, the oxidized sterling custom dog tag is a neat way for him to keep important dates close at heart.
  3. These velvet Ferragamo loafers are perfect for more than just Hugh Hefner in the playboy mansion!

Shop The Edit: Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

I had a blast pulling together an accessories edit for the current issue of Ballantyne Magazine.  I found so many things I loved and wanted to share that we were able to put together a story with a little something for, well, everyone!  I'll start with my favorite because who doesn't Just Wanna Have FUN?

  1. The rose gold disco ball drink holder is a party in itself.
  2. I love a great lotus leaf... on anything.  Especially a statement one. I love the We Dream In Colour lotus leaf necklace nabbed from Sloan.  I found it on line HERE.  Also love this one.
  3. Policy Handbags, local made, are so fun for Panther games, concerts and more!
  4. I wore this OPI dark teal color all fall long.  It's the perfect nail shade between those cool and warm weather months!
  5. My girl Kristin Hayes does it everytime.  I've styled her tassel earrings--in silver, pink or forest green--in several photo shoots the past few months.  A party on your ears!

Winter Coat: New Nautical

The fourth and final Winter Coat look for Ballantyne Magazine features this adorable naval meets varsity style coat by Coach.

If you've kept up with me on Instagram and in various publications this past fall you might have heard me say more than once how much I am loving the direction Coach has been heading with their new head designer, Stuart Vevers.  Instead of the drug store or deli or Coach store on every other corner in NYC as in the early 2000's, Coach's current design mentality seems to have returned to that of its time of inception.  There's a focus on less is more, quality vs. quantity, and amazing Ready-To-Wear designs.

Paired with a bag in a poppy shade of red, caramel colored boots, great shades and a cashmere pom beanie cap, and you've got one darling sailor ready to command!  Shop the entire look below or click HERE if you cannot see the below images.

Winter Coat: Camel Couture

The third Winter Coat look for Ballantyne Magazine showcases the always classic camel coat.

1 2 3 4

This Andrew Gn version, with its over sized fox fur collar, kicks camel up a notch from basic.  Paired with all the right accessories, we're talking full on Camel Couture!

Seriously cannot even get enough of these Tabitha Simmons velvet lace up booties.

Topped off with a pair of always chic over sized black Chanel sunnies, these available at Innovative Eye Care, and this Rag & Bone floppy brim fedora from Coplon's, your totally set!

Typically I am not much drawn to large logos, but I think Gucci is really having a moment.  The bag featured in our editorial, with it's bold gold double G's doesn't read as overt as I think most logo lathered bags do.  The structured rectangular shape of this bag reads polished and powerful to me.  It kind of reminds me of one that belonged to my Grandmother.  Fashion is so cyclical.  Especially the classics.  And so, I REALLY want this bag

Winter Coat: Gray Day

The second of four Winter Coat looks for Ballantyne Magazine comes to you with inspiration from a combination of images in my head.  I love great airport style.  I also think of something comfortable, monochromatic and chic for the business gal on the go. And then for some reason I have an image of model Rosie Huntington Whiteley in my head.  I think perhaps because she is so long and tall and somewhere I must have seen a picture of her dressed in all over gray.. or maybe it was over the knee boots.

I can't recall exactly, but this look is one that was permanently fixated in my head as one that must be part of the editorial.  Call in TRC W for this understated look of class.  Pair with the ever popular Stuart Weitzman Lowland Over The Knee Boot and a few other fav accessories, and I'm not sure there is a better under the radar, nonchalant, less is more look of style I'd like to emulate.

Speaking of coats, you do NOT want to miss the Largest Fur Sale of the year at Douglas Hertzberg Montaldo's Furs going on this week!

Winter Coat 1: Camo Chic

If you're ever in the Ballantyne area of Charlotte on business or pleasure (golf, spa amazing spa, anyone?), or perhaps you reside in the area, be sure to pick up the current issue of Ballantyne Magazine and learn a little more about this bustling area of the QC. What was once developed as a geographic area on the south side of town has since grown into a community, if not a self sustaining city within a city.  There was a time when this very topic was one of the year's biggest, most controversial ones for our progressively, perhaps more accurately stated aggressively, growing city.  Etc etc etc etc.... back to the fashion...I had a blast putting together a fun outfit editorial built around the four most fab winter coats I could lay my hands on in our great city.  All very different, I hope you will enjoy, starting with this Camo Chic look inspired by my all time fav for street style, the incomparable Kate Moss.

I'm thinking hard about these Free People Moto Boots, and these look a lot like Kate's!

Want to make your downtown utility look a little more uptown?  I love the lines on this utility inspired jacket.

Could Chloe BE any better??  I love the grommets on the Kurtis bag we used for this project.

Rose Quartz And Serenity For Your Wardrobe + Home

Supa Supa Dupa excited to share this latest editorial project.  Any opportunity to not only style but also write is like a new lease on intelligence for me.  I absolutely love what I do, but there are times I want to do things that allow me to feel a little more cerebral, if you know what I mean... like I am applying my degree or somethin'. Let's be honest, and I will take this as a perhaps unsolicited opportunity to do just that. FOLLOW YOUR PASSION my people.  It is important that you be responsible and put a roof over your head, but you need to pursue your passion.  And have the confidence to do it.  Surround yourself with Good Vibes Only. Don't listen to the nay-sayers and passion squashers.  Get after it.  It will not always be easy, but is selling widgets even if you do make a gazillion dollars really going to make you happy?  Want something you don't have?  You have the power to make it happen.  ONLY YOU.  You didn't ask, but I am all about supporting and loving on others, throwing high fives, giving butt slaps, break dancing and telling people You Is Kind, You Is Smart, You Is Important, because Lord knows good people with good vibes has been the most powerful dose by the milligrams for me during my difficult seasons.  You know who you is.

Back on the track.  The below editorial for the once primarily business focused but increasingly more community focused, Ballantyne Magazine, was so much fun. The story about incorporating Pantone's colors of the year into both your home and wardrobe this spring season includes product by some of my favorite local designers and retailers.  Don't fashion and interior design go hand in hand?!  For product and purchase information, keep scrolling.
